July 11-July 18
73rd Year Virtual Camp and Teachers/Musicians Fundraiser

SAVE THE DATES: OUR FREE VIRTUAL CAMP IS TAKING SHAPE!
This year we want to both honor the traditions established over the decades, and add new ingredients and spices that will make this Camp unique. Already in the planning stages are the teaching of dances, culture corners, singing and ukulele classes, broadcast of archived video of dances and talent shows, a Hat Kolo, the Candle Lighting Ceremony, a raffle, Bollywood Squares, online puzzles, a Name-That-Tune contest, a daily raffle, a silent auction, and at least two virtual dance parties. We have also secured the assistance of two additional teachers: Roberto Bagnoli and Ahmet Lüleci. We are even considering a couple of cooking classes! While we cannot guarantee all of these will make the final cut, we remain committed to putting on a memorable experience. Mark your calendars: July 11-18.

Currently the schedule calls for live presentations 4-8pm on the west coast of the United States where Stockton is located, which will allow dancers on the east coast of the United States to view the offerings 7-11pm. All of the presentations will be recorded and rebroadcast so they appear in Europe and Asia during their optimum viewing times (it's starting to sound like the Olympics in Tokyo!).

IT'S ALL FREE!
We want to make it abundantly clear that, yes, you will have an opportunity to thank and donate to Camp, as well individual teachers and musicians, but they truly are donations. Absolutely no payment is required to view any of the presentations during the July 11-18 virtual camp.

There will also be some 'packages' that you often see during the funding marathons for public broadcasting: Donate $ and you get A; donate $$ and you get A and B; donate $$$ and you get A, B, and C.

YES, WE WILL HAVE A COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRT (and more) !
Susan Gregory put all of her design skills to work quickly, coming up with a graphic that cleverly explains what this year's Virtual Camp is all about. The design is on the right.

Because you won't be able to pick up your t-shirt at Camp, we are using a different method for delivering it to you. We will be using Cafepress.com to create a virtual store where you can put this clever design on a t-shirt, a totebag, a ceramic mug, or a water bottle, and the items you select will be shipped to you. Once we have the online store set up (hopefully in the next 7-10 days) you'll get a notice that items are ready for purchase, with delivery expected before the Big Week!

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PHOTOS?
Photos were taken at every Stockton Folk Dance Camp since the very first year and we don't want this year to be an exception. We would like you to take photos of yourself dancing during the Big Week. We are hopeful that some of us will be able to dance in small groups -- perhaps outside, perhaps six feet apart -- but it would be great to have photos of those happy occasions if they happen! If you order some of the commemorative items mentioned above, you can include them in the photos you take. Email your photos to Loui Tucker and she will organize and post them on our SmugMug site.

DID YOU RESPOND TO THE SURVEY?
We are still interested in hearing from you about what sort of programming you'd like to see during our Virtual Camp coming up in July. We'd love to hear from YOU!
